Russell Seears, 815 Kinbombi Road, Goomeri 4601, Queensland, Australia. September 2011. To Agricultural Colleges, Universities, Cattle Associations, Cattle Breeders, Rural Newspapers and interested readers. Hello, I am Russell Seears from Queensland Australia and I would love to introduce to you and to share with you, this information on a small cattle reference book on the daily management and handling of a beef cattle breeding herd under open range conditions, called ‘Practical Beef Cow Management’. This book would be informative to students and cattle farmers interested in cattle breeding. Although we all live in different parts of the world, our interests are very much alike and countries with simular environments do share a common method of cattle and land management practices. The information in this book could be of some help to students in their rural education, as in the book, reasons are given to why certain management procedures and systems are suggested. This is a simple, yet factual book, which could be adapted in any cattle-breeding herd in most parts of the world. The book is in digital format and listed on Amazon Kindle and I have attached the link below to take you to my YouTube channel ‘Cowhelp’, which will give you the links to the book. Thank you for allowing me to share this book with you and your students and all rural people interested in cattle breeding. Book link: http://www.youtube.com/user/Cowhelp Kind Regards, Russell Seears. Email: seears@activ8.net.au PH: +61 (0) 741684326

We have a diverse group called the Transformers that is focusing on the many topics facing our rural community which just happen to parallel the rural compact topics. We are also finding that it is going to take a great many resources to make adaptive changes needed in rural communities for the betterment of our community and for the state and country.

I believe rural nonprofits should network together and form advocacy groups to raise awareness about the pressing rural social, economic and environmental challenges that are critical to our nation's future. In doing so we can draw funding from national and asset based resources that will support capacity, connectivity and impacts leading to recognizable outcomes, not simply measurable outputs.
